Insolvency of Insurance Companies

Neuma only purchases policies from insurance companies with ratings of A- or better by A. M. Best Company or the equivalent by other major insurance rating services. However, if an insurance company that has issued a policy becomes insolvent or otherwise defaults on its obligations, the purchaser of the policy could be adversely affected.

Neuma, as the owner of the policy, would have the legal standing to recover claims from a state insurance guaranty fund, but there can be no assurance that sufficient funds will exist to completely reimburse all policyholders.
