Neuma’s investors can select a number of major international banks as independent escrow agent / trustee; for smaller transactions, we have available a reputable, local Certified Public Accounting firm.
Each escrow agent is responsible for verifying:
- That the declared policy is in force and is assignable;
- That there are no liens on the policy;
- That the assignment/transfer of ownership and beneficiary has been accepted and recorded by the insurance company;
- The due date for payment of premiums;
- The amount of the premiums;
- The method of payment of the premiums;
- The address where the premium payments are to be sent;
- That the insurance carrier meets the required rating criteria;
- That an approved medical underwriter has issued the life expectancy report; and
- That once the insured passes away, Neuma promptly obtains the death certificate and notifies the insurance company.
The escrow agent / trustee then collects the policy’s death benefit and forwards it directly to the investor.
